đź‘‹ Quick Note: These Terms and Conditions govern all print services provided by TechSpec LLC. By submitting files, approving proofs, or placing a print order, you agree to these Terms.
1. Proofs & Client Approval
Your responsibility in the approval process:
- Client Solely Responsible: You are solely responsible for reviewing and approving all proofs prior to production
- Approval = Acceptance: Approval constitutes acceptance of all content, layout, spelling, sizing, color, and placement
- No Liability After Approval: Once approved, TechSpec LLC shall not be liable for errors or omissions
- Check Everything Carefully: Review spelling, phone numbers, addresses, colors, and all content before approving
- Take your time with proofs—once you approve, we move to production immediately
2. QR Codes & Scannable Elements
Important information about QR codes:
- Best Practices: TechSpec LLC designs and prints QR codes using industry best practices
- Recommended Guidelines: We follow recommended sizing, contrast, and placement guidelines
- Factors Beyond Our Control: Print materials, substrates, lighting conditions, and device variability may affect scan performance
- Client Responsibility: Final responsibility for verifying QR code functionality rests with you prior to approval
- No Liability After Production: TechSpec LLC shall not be liable for QR code failures, misreads, or inability to scan after production when the proof has been approved
- Pro Tip: Always test QR codes with multiple devices before approving your proof
3. Color & Print Variations
Understanding color accuracy:
- Screen vs. Print: Colors displayed on screens may vary from printed output
- Why Differences Occur: Due to monitor calibration, materials, inks, and printing processes
- No Exact Matching: Exact color matching is not guaranteed
- What We Do: We use color management best practices to get as close as possible
- Critical Color Matching: If exact color is critical, request a physical proof before full production
4. Payment Terms
When payment is required:
- Payment Before Production: Full payment is required prior to production unless otherwise agreed in writing
- Additional Charges: Custom printing, special finishes, file preparation, or revisions may incur additional charges
- Quotes are provided before any additional work begins
5. Turnaround Time & Delivery
Production and shipping timelines:
- Estimates Only: Turnaround times are estimates only and not guaranteed
- Not Responsible For: TechSpec LLC is not responsible for delays caused by:
- Shipping carriers (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.)
- Supply shortages or material availability
- Equipment failure or maintenance
- Events beyond our control (weather, natural disasters, etc.)
- We'll always communicate if unexpected delays occur
6. Client-Provided Materials
Your responsibility for supplied files:
- You Warrant Ownership: You represent that all supplied content, artwork, logos, and files are owned by you or properly licensed
- Copyright Compliance: You have the legal right to print all materials you provide
- File Quality Issues: TechSpec LLC is not responsible for errors resulting from:
- Low-resolution files
- Incorrect dimensions or sizing
- Missing or improperly embedded fonts
- Other issues with client-supplied materials
- Need help with file prep? Just ask—we're happy to assist for a small fee
7. Intellectual Property
Who owns what:
- Your Artwork: You retain ownership of client-supplied artwork
- Our Design Elements: TechSpec LLC retains ownership of any design elements created unless otherwise agreed
- Portfolio Use: TechSpec LLC may display completed print work in portfolios or marketing materials unless you submit a written objection
- Want your project kept confidential? Just let us know in writing
8. Reprints & Corrections
If something goes wrong:
- Our Error = Free Reprint: We'll reprint at no charge if we made the mistake
- Your Error = Your Cost: Errors in approved files are your responsibility
- Damage in Transit: Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos
- Color Issues: Report within 48 hours with photo evidence
- We stand behind our work and will always make things right when it's our error
9. Cancellations & Returns
Order changes and cancellations:
- After Payment: No cancellations are accepted once payment is received
- Custom/Personalized Items: Non-refundable once payment is received
- Defective Items: Full refund or reprint within 7 days of receipt
- No Returns: No returns on approved custom orders
10. Limitation of Liability
Our maximum liability:
- Limited to Order Amount: To the fullest extent permitted by law, TechSpec LLC shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of revenue or business
- Maximum Liability: Liability, if any, shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific print order
- No Business Loss Claims: We're not responsible for missed events, lost opportunities, or business interruption
11. No Warranty
Provided "as is":
- As-Is Basis: All print services and materials are provided "as is"
- Disclaimer: TechSpec LLC disclaims any implied warranties, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- We always strive for the highest quality, but printed materials are subject to normal variation
12. File Storage & Reprints
For easy reordering:
- We store approved files for 12+ months for easy reordering
- Reorders using stored files are not subject to design fees
- After 12 months, files may be archived
13. Acceptance of Terms
How these terms become binding:
- Agreement Methods: Placing an order, submitting files, or approving proofs constitutes acceptance of the full Print Terms & Conditions
- These terms apply to all print orders unless a separate written agreement is signed
